A.C. McLemore obituary

Rev. A.C. McLemore, 84, a “good and faithful servant”, adoring husband for 61 years, minister of the gospel and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, has ended an earthly life of sacrificial service to his family, his country and those in need, and began a life eternal in the presence of Our Father on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel at 6200 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tenn. with a service to follow at 7 p.m. The burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the new Veteran’s Cemetery in South Knoxville with full military honors.
A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. McLemore served in the U.S. Air Force and the Naval Air Reserve. He served as a pastor for more than 43 years, and devoted his life to proclaiming the gospel, not only in words but in tireless acts of service to those who were sick, hurting and in need.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Debbie and Harry Wootan, Cindy and Greg Price and Tim and Kimberly McLemore; his grandchildren, Ashley and Chris Blankenship, Bonnie Wootan, Emily Price, Isaac McLemore and Ian McLemore; and a great-granddaughter, Layla Blankenship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
